Hmm, first impression, very nice, yet a bit dated. But it’s growing on me.
I like that the 70s are being re-invented, in a good way, by a whole new group of sound artists, most of who weren’t even born yet. This music goes from being very pretty and majestic, to full-blown noise, but listenable.
At the right volume could be very subtle background ambience, or played loudly for the full experience. What at first listen might be considered fairly one-dimensional develops endless layers of change, all in reasonably short time frames. Side Two in particular transitions nicely from clarity to deep multi-layered drones, and back again. A couple pieces seemed to be cut short . . . nothing wrong with that, leave the listener wanting more.
